CAPSULE SUMMARY:

In the newly christened Power Chamber, the six teens find Zordon alive & well. He welcomes them to the "surprise Alpha has been working on for months", and informs them of the new dark & evil force. He explains about the Machine Empire, who broke away from the United Alliance Of Evil and are planning to invade their galaxy. Zordon reveals the details of their new villains, and notes that our galaxy is the final link in a chain of galaxies already defeated by the Machine Empire.

On the moon, Rita Repulsa, Lord Zedd, Baboo, Squatt, Finster, and the Tengas flee the Quadrafighter blasts, load up Serpentera and take off to Master Vile's place, vowing to one day return to enact revenge on those who usurped them.

On the Machine Empire Skybase, King Mondo complains about his forces' inablity to destroy such an easy target as Rita & Zedd. It's a loss he'll one day regret further. With the Earth defenseless and their rivals gone, the Machine Empire launches a full scale Cog assault.

In Angel Grove, Bulk & Skull fix up their Patrol Bike, when the amnesiac Rito & Goldar drop by, wanting to move in with them. Once Bulk & Skull get over their fear of the "monsters", they take advantage of the situation by allowing Rito & Goldar to live with them, on the condition that they become their own personal maids/lackeys/servants.

Without Power Coins, the six teens worry about the safety of their planet. But luckily, Zordon reveals that the fully energized Zeo Crystal will be the new and more powerful energy source for their powers. Billy, having learned his own usefulness without being a Ranger during his time with the Aquitian Rangers, declines to become one again. He plans to work in the Power Chamber with Alpha, and passes his Zeo Sub-crystal on to Tanya. The Zeo Crystal is split up and used to power each Ranger, by use of wrist-worn Zeonizers. They Morph into Zeo Power Rangers, and fight off a gang of Cogs in a construction area, showing off their new suits and fighting skills.

The Six Ranger teens, with a new color woredrobe for Billy, Tommy, Adam, & Rocky, hang out at Ernie's Juice Bar Outdoor Cafe, and talk about how brutal those Cogs are compared to the Tengas. Tommy notes that Ninjor is back in the temple and their Zords are gone, but Billy promises he, Zordon & Alpha have some new tricks up their sleeves. In a reversal of roles from earlier in the season, Tanya is moving in with Kat and will be attending the high school. The Power Rangers are back, better than ever.
